The eruption of your kid's baby teeth is part of their normal dental development process. It is a fact that by the time your baby turns three they should have 20 teeth. Kids develop most of the primary teeth in their early years. When your kid is born, they have buds on the gums which offer space to where their twenty teeth will erupt and develop.
Tooth Eruption Order
In the first three years, your child develops five varying types of teeth. The first type of teeth your kid develops are the central incisors which are the front teeth. The second set of teeth that erupt are the lateral incisors placed between the central incisors of their canines. The third type of teeth your kid develops are the first molars. The fourth set they develop is the canines which are beside their front molars. The last and fifth type of teeth your kid erupts are the second molars.
Timing Of Teeth Eruptions
Babies have different teething times. Your kid may start teething as early as 4 to 7 months of age, or have their first teeth when they turn 9 months to a year old. Genetics influence the time of teething. Nonetheless, you should have a general timeline of when your child's baby teeth should erupt. Your child should develop bottom central incisors from 6-10 months old. The top central incisors develop in the first 8 to 12 months. The top lateral incisors erupt between 9 to 13 months. At 10-16 months your kid develops the bottom lateral incisors. Please note that the first molars in the top develop when your kid turns 13 to 19 months old. The second molars on the bottom mouth of your kid erupt at between 14-18 months. Their top and bottom canniness develop by the time your kid turns between 16 to 23 months. Lastly, their second molars develop when they turn between 25 to 33 months.
However, at times your kid's teeth may erupt slightly out of order. This is not a call for concern as a parent. For a delay or an eruption in the wrong order ensure you book an appointment by contacting our offices for instant assistance!
