Many struggle with their daily oral hygiene routine. However, there might be one simple solution. One might enjoy their routine much better by simply getting a new toothpaste with a brand-new flavor!
Benefits of Changing Up Flavors
There is actually a great benefit of changing up your toothpaste flavor. It is a proven fact that taste buds change over time. Some studies have determined that with adults, our taste buds turnover every ten days or so, while others suggest that approximately 10 percent of the cells inside our taste buds turnover each day. Each individual is different, as well, which is a good reason to change the flavor of your toothpaste, periodically. If you keeps using the same flavor over and over again, you do not really get the full taste of the flavor any longer, at least not the same as you did when you very first started using that particular type of toothpaste. That is when the routine becomes boring. If you get bored, you may not brush as well, which could lead to several oral health problems over time.
Different Flavors
There is no reason to feel like you need to stick to the same flavor, as there are so many different flavors today. If you use mint toothpaste for a whole month, then the next month you should change it up and try cinnamon, then the month after that you should try strawberry flavored, and so on. What can it hurt? A healthy mouth is important to your overall health!
Many do not realize that bad oral hygiene can help contribute to the development of other serious problems, such as cardiovascular disease and dementia! Poor oral health can affect the brain. Respiratory infections, diabetes, infertility, pregnancy complications, and more can be attributed to bad oral health. A simple change can help avoid all of these complications for sure.
