There is also signs you can look for to know if your child may need a fluoride treatment or not. We are going to clarify what signs to look for in your kids.

We are going to explain to you what a fluoride treatment is and how it will help your child keep their teeth healthy. There are also a few things you can try at home while others can require office visits.

What is Fluoride?


Fluoride is a common thing that is found is the earth's crust known as the fluoride ion. You can also find it in other parts in the soil and rocks. The fluoride works to help prevent tooth decay in your child's mouth. There are stages that the fluoride has to go through to get the fluoride back into your child's enamel. Remineralization occurs when the mineral goes back into the tooth enamel. Demineralization happens when the mineral leaves the enamel.

Signs Your Child's Teeth Need Fluoride


Tooth decay is the main sign that your child is missing fluoride from their teeth enamel. When their teeth become weak is also another sign that they may need a fluoride treatment. Getting a fluoride treatment will help strengthen the teeth back up. Also look for white spots on your child's teeth, white spots on the teeth is a sign of demineralization. You can also try a few things at work for a while to see if they will help. Try switching to toothpaste and mouthwash that contains fluoride.
