Objects Infants Can Chew on Safely While TeethingTeething is not a fun stage that babies go through. From as early as two to four months old, babies can begin the teething process. This means that the baby teeth are coming in and this process can be quite painful. For parents, it is important to find items that soothe your baby, so they are not constantly in pain. One way to help with teething is to provide objects for chewing. The process of chewing can be soothing to the baby. So what items can be used?

Teething Toys


One of the most popular ways that parents find helps babies with teething is with teething toys. Such toys can be purchased at major retailers and come in all shapes and sizes. Every baby is different, so you will have to try a few different options to find what works best for your child. Some babies like the teething toys that can be refrigerated or frozen for a cooling effect. Others prefer softer toys that have a plastic type component that can be chewed for hours on end. Try a variety of toys to see what works best for your baby.

Burp Rags/Washcloths


Another option you might not think of is a burp rag or washcloth. The material of such items is very durable and feels good to the baby when chewed. Both can easily be held on to by the baby and brought up to the mouth for chewing. Many babies are often better capable of holding the cloths rather than a bulky teething toy.
